BiOdiesel

LINARES BIODIESEL TECHNOLOGY (LIBITEC)

LINARES BIODIESEL TECHNOLOGY (LIBITEC), was created in 2005 as an industrial alternative to the sugar sector. From the beginning it has been committed to aspects such as ecology, sustainability, agro-industry, within production processes differentiated by quality and service.

The production plant was built between 2005-2007, under technology developed by the company Desmet-Ballestra, for a production of 100,000 tonnes of biodiesel per year. Its original design was focused on the operation with raw materials of plant origin (100% vegetable oils, both crude, partially refined and/or refined).

In 2018, there was a change in the company's shareholders, passing the 100% in the hands of SOLUCIONES INDUSTRIALES EXTREMEÑAS S.L.L., who improves the technology installed there by incorporating "SOLINDEX" technology into the production process to obtain biodiesel of the best quality (patented process); achieving one of the first “Multi-feedstock” production plants in Europe.

Despite the optimal situation of the plant, the demand from LIBITEC's customers is 3.5 times the current capacity, so in 2020 a 200,000 mt biodiesel manufacturing unit (with Westfalia technology) is acquired, which allows the company to grow exponentially. In addition, this new unit frees up the existing refining unit to accommodate the growing demand for new products (refined oils) as raw material for the manufacture of hydrobiodiesel in other industries and oil refineries.

Finally, in order to be able to access any second-generation biodiesel market, the incorporation of a new desulphurisation and decolourisation unit is being planned, which is scheduled to come on stream by the end of 2021.
